The magnificent factory, located on Mauritius, was built by a big family at the end of the nineteenth century as a farm to grow sugarcane. It continued to function up until the 1990s.
Today, the renovation is part of an important urban project that will embellish the site by creating a museum showing its past life, all the while also installing a new Stevia factory within the site.
We wanted to stay within the spirit of the place, while highlighting the structure and walls of the building. We then put in place a path as part of the museum, used architectural language adapted to the site, and developed a metallic hemstitched canopy.
